David Castellanos is headed into his tenth season as the men's soccer head coach at Penn State Abington. During the past nine seasons, the Blue and White have posted 80 wins while earning an ECAC playoff berth in 2013 for the third time in program history.

Last season, Castellanos guided Abington to a 10-5-3 record and a NEAC mark of 6-0-2, finishing in second place in the conference. Penn State Abington advanced into the NEAC Tournament for its fifth consecutive year, where the Nittany Lions fell in the semifinals to Morrisville State College in penalty kicks. The Nittany Lions were selected to participate in the ECAC Championship for the second straight year, where they fell in the first round to Swarthmore College.

Castellanos holds a 80-58-12 overall record since 2005 for the Nittany Lions. He led the team to four ECAC appearances in the 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013 seasons. Throughout the course of his coaching career, Castellanos has produced a total of fourty-eight men's players that were recognized by the North Eastern Athletic Conference.  Out of those players that were named to the All-Conference team, one player in particular excelled to be named NEAC Player of the Year,  ECAC First Team All-Conference, as well as Philly-SIDA All-Academic. Castellanos and his staff hopes to continue producing quality student-athletes.

Born in Fairfax, Virginia, Castellanos grew up in Philadelphia. In 1998, he graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School. As a youth player, he was on the U.S. U17 & U20 National Team.

Castellanos began his collegiate career at Mercer County Community College in 1998, two years later, he transferred to the University of Connecticut. That season, the Huskies won the 2000 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship with Castellanos providing an assist in the title win over Creighton University. Castellanos graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
The bi-lingual Castellanos turned professional with C.D. Motagua in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras in 2002. He signed with the Colorado Rapids in 2004 and also played for the Minnesota Thunder and Virginia Beach Mariners of USL.

Castellanos moved indoors with the Philadelphia KiXX of the Major Indoor Soccer League in 2005. Castellanos played for the KiXX until the team ceased operations in 2010. During that time, the KiXX won the 2007 MISL championship.

Aside from coaching at Penn State Abington, Castellanos is also the head coach of the U12, U13, and U15 Continental FC Delco Academy and is also the head coach of the Reading United A.C. for the 2014 USL Premier Development League.
